Mont d’Or
It has an incomparable taste of hazelnut, and woody flavours imparted by the spruce strap.
A speciality of the Haut Doubs, this cheese can only be made between 15 August and 15 March and sold from 10 September to 10 May. The Mont d’Or Le Montagnon is one of the last to be made completely according to tradition. First matured on a board and then circled by a spruce strap, it then matures in its wooden box, also made from the spruces of the Jura Mountains. It can be enjoyed both hot and cold.
